There’s nothing worse than having an awful day. I know that when I get home after a long, stressful day I just want to go upstairs to bed, but lately I’ve been thinking “Why let a bad day stop me?”. So today, I’m sharing some tips for getting over bad days and turning them in to good days.
- Get outside!: You’ve probably heard this one before, but it really helps me. Biking, hiking and swinging at the park really boost my mood, but if you want to you can just find a peaceful quiet spot outside where you can sit and relax. The fresh air will clear your mind and help you cool down.
- Spend time with others: I find that surrounding myself with people I love really cheers me up when I’m having a tough time. Whether its’ watching a silly movie with my best friend or playing in the park with my younger brother, I always feel better after surrounding myself with awesome people.
- Turn on some music and have a dance party!: Music has a big impact on our moods. Even when I’m feeling low, music can usually perk me up. I love to blast some upbeat music and have a mini dance party. It might sound a bit weird, but it’s one of my favourite ways to cheer myself up.
- Find what you’re grateful for: On a bad day it’s easy to dwell on the negative and easy to forget the positive. During those tough times, I like to think about what I’m grateful for. It helps me to see why I’m so lucky, even after a bad day.
So those are some of my tips for getting over a bad day and cheering yourself up. I hope some of these ideas work for you and that the next time you have a bad day you’re able to feel better and maybe even turn it in to a good day!
Remember that you are much stronger than any bad day or challenge you might face. I know you can get through anything you might be facing!
