Mindfulness: Youth Voices

Mindfulness means “paying attention in a particular way: On purpose, in the present moment, and without judgment” (Jon Kabat-Zinn).  Much of our stress, pain, and suffering comes from being pulled away from the present moment. We are distracted with regrets about the past, worries about the future, and judgments about the present. Mindfulness training can help to improve our health and ways of coping.

This video features youth and young adults discussing their experiences practicing mindfulness, and how mindfulness has benefited different aspects of their lives. The video also features youth practicing mindfulness, and includes insights from a health professional and mindfulness teacher.
